 SMART℠ Junior Tennis Programs

Using modified balls, racquets and court sizes, kids start playing on court with other kids right away, learning as they go. Certified teaching pros provide plenty of individual attention, so kids get better at their own pace. With our innovative SMART programming, we focus on fun and athleticism first, with tennis skills coming second.

Red Ball

Ages 3–9. This program inspires very young children to experience tennis in a happy and positive environment. Kids learn the basics with partner-based activities, developing hand/eye coordination, motor skills and ball control.

Orange Ball

Ages 7–12. Children refine strokes and consistency, and work on balance and footwork. Singles and doubles competition and strategy are introduced. Age-appropriate equipment and instruction ensure a positive and fun learning environment.

Green Ball

Ages 11–13. Geared toward children capable of maintaining a consistent rally on a full court. Kids will focus on technique, movement, court coverage and strategy in order to develop a more complete and competitive game.

Junior Development (Yellow Ball)

Ages 11–17. High school players will fine-tune their strokes and develop more advanced techniques with a larger array of shots and match play strategies. It is recommended that players at this level start participating in tournaments in order to test their skills in a competitive setting.

Ages 12–18. For juniors who are competing at the sectional, national and international levels, players will train physically and mentally to compete at elite levels. Many Performance kids are preparing for college or professional tennis.
